Meet Anne Marie Kenefick

Hello and welcome to my corner of the internet. I’m glad you’re here.

My name is Annemarie, and I am a qualified psychotherapist based in Youghal, East Cork.

My academic background is in childcare and social care. However, through my own life experiences and personal journey in therapy, I was inspired to begin my training in counselling and psychotherapy at MTU Cork in 2016.

Having experienced therapy myself, I understand how difficult it can be to take that first step and make a commitment to yourself. At the same time, I have seen—both personally and professionally—how powerful it can be when you decide to create space for your own wellbeing.

Prior to opening my private practice, I worked in a Family Resource Centre, where I had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of clients. While I believe that each person brings their own unique story, my priority remains the same: to provide a safe, supportive space for exploration and growth. To ensure this, I adhere to the professional and ethical guidelines of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP)

Your journey, my support

My journey into counselling is driven by a deep desire to support individuals navigating life's complexities. In Youghal, I work with clients facing a wide range of issues, including depression, trauma, loss, parenting challenges, relationship issues, family conflict, illness, and low self-esteem. My unique approach is rooted in providing a compassionate and confidential environment where you can explore these challenges and find your path forward.
