Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I need therapy?

Deciding to start therapy is a personal journey. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. People come to therapy for stress, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, or simply to understand themselves better.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer online sessions via zoom.

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to counselling, your goals, and any concerns you might have. It's a gentle introduction where you can ask questions and ensure you feel comfortable with the process. This initial meeting helps us to build a foundation for our work together.

How often will we meet?

Most clients attend weekly, especially at the beginning, but this can be adjusted based on your preferences

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

A  good therapeutic relationship is important for therapy to work. Like any relationship in life its personal to each individual what they need and want from someone.

Before meeting we have a call to see if i feel Im suitable for your needs and we arrange an appointment. Then on our first meeting its a gives a chnace not only for me to get to know you but also for you to get a chance to see how it feels working with me and see if it feels right for you.

Is our conversation confidential?

Confidentiality is paramount within my  practice. All discussions within our sessions are strictly private and confidential, adhering to ethical guidelines. There are very rare exceptions to this, such as if there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others. This is something we will discuss in detail during our first meeting.

How long does counselling take?

The duration of counselling varies greatly depending on individual needs and goals. Some people benefit from short-term counselling focusing on specific issues, while others prefer longer-term support for deeper exploration and personal development. We will regularly review your progress and adjust our approach to suit you.
